Blessed Beyond Measure

Klein Oak high school is making history by plowing through the playoffs! We won! We won! It was a very emotional game, but we pulled through. Thanks to an awesome defense of course! It was so great to have most of the people I love in one place at one time. Nana, Papa, Uncle T, Alicia, Mamaw, Papaw, Terra, Tucker and of course N and I were all able to make the game. It was sure nice to have so many hands to help with N- she was very energetic as usual. Above are a few pictures of her daddy time before the game. We try to arrive when the team does so she can have that special time with him. She always has so much fun! I am so proud for B and for all of the boys! Third round- go Panthers!

At Thanksgiving dinner Papaw suggested that we say our blessing before we eat. N blurted out "God Bless Buzz, Amen!" Of course, we all got a good laugh out of that! She loves her Buzz Lightyear!

Well, we won our first play-off game last weekend against Conroe district's Oak Ridge High School. It was the first play-off win in the history of Klein Oak. What an exciting time! We are going to Round Rock, Texas this week to take on Cedar Park. Go Panthers!!

We have a new hero in the house! Buzz Lightyear. N is obsessed with him. It is pretty adorable. She wants to watch the Toy Story movie all the time, even in the car. When Buzz first arrives on the scene she stands up with giddy anticipation and exclaims "BUZZ!" when he finally appears. Then she bursts into a series of waving and kisses blown at him. Flirting with an action figure- should we be worried? We went to the Junior League Holdiay Market this weekend and when a lady asked if she was a daddy's girl, I of course exclaimed "yes!" Then the lady proceeded to bend down in front of N and asked "Is Daddy your favorite person in the world?" She quickly replied, "No, Buzz!" Everyone around burst into laughter. Move over Daddy- a new man's in town. Who could resisit wings made of terillium-carbonic alloy!

N has been calling me "Honey" lately. Of course I think it is just precious, but I had no idea where she picked it up. I don't call her or B honey. Yesterday, she called me honey and I responded, "Are you mommy's honey?" She quickly said NO! with her crinkle face and let me know that she was GenGeve's honey. Our little spunky girl! Speaking of GenGeve- they made Indian hats complete with feathers and came up with Indian names for all of the kids at school. Couldn't you have guessed our little Indian is RUNNING BULL! So fitting!

We had a wonderful time visiting Papa, Nana, Mimi, Terry, Alicia, Terra and Tucker this weekend. This is a picture from our trip to the park. The Autumn colors were beautiful and N had a ball playing on the playground- especially the merry-go-round. She cried and cried when it was time to get off. The fact that she was dizzy was only bothering Mommy! Not slowing her down though.

Here it is! The birthday present, in the box that I picked up from the fedex place and couldn't peek at! The necklace I have wanted for SO long. Don't ask me why- I just fell in love with it the first time I saw it. Reese Witherspoon wore the white gold version (like mine) in the movie Just Like Heaven and while watching this movie about two years ago, I told B I would love to have it. It was so simple and elegant and the perfect size too- very small. I don't wear much jewelry, but this will become a part of my daily wear. I had so much fun opening the box. When I saw what it was, I started crying so hard. I couldn't control myself. I was just so touched that he had actually gotten it for me. It was a perfect gift on a perfect weekend! I am so lucky!

Hopefully it is a phase that all toddlers go through. Our fearless, on top-of-the world N has decided to be inscure all of a sudden. She is clinging to me every morning before school, screaming "Mommy!" the whole time. Of course she is fine within minutes of my leaving, but I cry half-way to work. She is insecure about going to bed at night too. This is a child that we have literally plopped into bed every night for well over a year now. She has been content to play in bed alone for hours if she wasn't tired when bedtime rolled around. Not anymore. Last night she gladly went into her room for bedtime, but would have nothing to do with getting in bed. No problem- mommy will rock her. Over two hours later, we were both frustrated and I had to let her cry herself to sleep. Talk about breaking your heart. I am not sure where the insecurities snuck in from, but I hope they are gone as quick as they came!

Since N's bedtime is 6:00pm, we didn't plan on any trick-or-treating. I wasn't up for it by myself anyway. But, much to our surprise, daddy made it home early. Little N was thrilled!! He even gave her a glow in the dark necklace, which she gladly insisted on wearing the rest of the night. We didn't have many gobblins at our door, but N loved handing out candy to the ones we had. Since she had on her footie pj's ready for bed when daddy came home, I decided her costume would just be Wendy from Peter Pan- she wore pajamas right?
