Save a Horse . . .

We were riding down the road today on our way home from school. I asked N how her day went and she, or course, ignored me. I repeated the question a few times and she pretended to be busy reading something in the back seat. I asked one last time and she quickly responded, "Mommy, hold my horses." Funny, I didn't know I said the real version of that quote to her very often. But, now I see that I probably do!

Good Fences Make Good Neighbors

What is it with us attracting neighbor dogs? We really aren't all that friendly. I mean, let's face it, our poor dogs only have each other half the time because we either aren't home or we are inside away from them. I am always so glad that we got two of them so they at least have each other to love on. In Oklahoma, we noticed a sweet little boxer dog peeking through a small hole in the fence. It was the saddest thing you have ever seen. I mean look at that sweet face peeking through as if the only good part of his life existed in our yard instead of his. As time passed, the hole got larger and he spent most of the day looking into our yard. Our boys would spend hours sitting with him and playing with him through the hole in the fence. We had no idea what the sweet dog's name was, so we started calling him Roscoe. Roscoe eventually managed to break a bigger hole in the fence and they could almost play together. It wasn't long before he had knocked out a couple of bo...

Daddy Cooks

Yesterday, as I prepared dinner N came running into the kitchen to thank me for making dinner- a wonderful habit that her Daddy has taught her. She says, " You're cooking? Mommy, thank you so much for cooking. When is Daddy cooking?" I giggled a little at the thought and quickly responded, "Daddy doesn't really cook much." She was quick to defend him. "Yes Daddy cooks!! He makes cheez -its and milkshakes!" I burst out laughing and her little serious face let it be known that she was not joking around about her defense. I straightened up and tried to respect her feelings by gushing about Daddy's wonderful ability to make yummy cheez -its and delicious milkshakes.

Weekend Fun!

We had so much fun in Athens this weekend! We loved our time at "Papa's party" celebrating his retirement. N looked so cute in her pink " hippy " outfit and had everyone talking about her as she ran everywhere shouting "Poppy!" We were sure thankful for Uncle Terry and Tucker for being there to entertain us- even if you did try to throw her in a trashcan. At least that is the story I got from N! (Terry, you will learn that she tells us everything!) I think she gave them both a run for their money with her insane energy level. She had so much fun with them, that for the next two mornings when she woke up, the first thing she said was, "I want my Uncle Terry to come play today." I explained that he was working and she disappointingly accepted it. Can't wait to come back soon and play!

A Gaggle of Girls

We had a blast this weekend with the Kaighan family. N especially loved playing with their sweet girls. Here are a few pictures of them all enjoying the Market Street fountains on a beautiful spring day. All these girls! And to think, they will have a boy soon to join the crew!
