Harvey

This hurricane is awful.  The devastation Harvey is bringing is too much for my heart to hold. The radar literally shows it sitting on top of us just dumping rain.  The flooding all around us is so scary.  We are safe, but so many we know and love have lost everything.  The days to come will no doubt bring so much work and sadness for everyone.  Harvey, please go away!

Cuddles!

Lucky for me I have cuddly kids.  Now . . . Nixon is a sweet cuddler.  She will sit still and warm your heart for hours.  Elliot . . . you get about five minutes before he becomes an active cuddler.  Crawling around your neck, biting your face, pulling your hair, trying to crawl off the back of the couch . . . You have to be fast to take in his cuddles!

I Got Tables!

I have wanted tables in my classroom for years.  And it finally happened.  They are old science tables that were taken out of a school during construction.  But, I love them!  They are perfect for me!

My Heart

If this picture doesn't make you smile, then nothing will.  Warms my heart to see the greatest man in my life holding the little man in my life.  Love!

First Day of School

Our first day of school!  She looks so amazing and beautiful.  And grown up.  Sigh.  I couldn't be prouder of this amazing girl.  She has blown me away with her ability to love Elliot and be so helpful around the house.  I can't believe she is in junior high already.  How did the time pass so quickly?  We are so excited to be together for the first time.  I love this kid and can't wait to have her at school with me every day.

Lessons Learned

As school starts today, I am holding on to lessons learned and looking forward to what this new year has to offer.  Here's to a new year!

Getting So Big

Is it just me, or is this little guy getting so big?!  I can hardly stand how fast this is all going by.  He is pulling up on everything and getting into anything he can reach.  Lucky for us we have good kitty babysitters to keep an eye on our little gremlin.

Building His Immune System

This is how teacher kids build their immune system.  Yuck!

Swamp No More

I have been dying to "plug" the jets in our Jacuzzi tub for quite some time.  Not only are they impossible to keep clean, but mold kept seeping out of them into my relaxing baths.  Gross!  I googled and found a rigged solution.  Those are door stoppers glued over the jets with marine glue.  It may be ugly, but it is simply perfect if you ask me.  No more seeping mold.  And oddly enough, it turns out we don't have swampy green water after all.  For years I have complained that we have swampy green water.  Well . . .that just goes to show how gross these things are.  I will never own another tub like this.  Ever!

Baby Birds

You have to look VERY closely.  In this picture are some baby bird eggs.  The momma built her nest in the wreath on our front door.  Smart girl if you ask me . . . no nest building needed!  Can't wait to see them hatch and and grow.
