Halloween Parade

Please tell me the size of my head is an optical illusion here! Aren't we cute anyway, well isn't she cute! The only way to get myself in the picture is to take it. She just caught site of me. I hope I remember this smile forever!!! Loved spending a little time with my princess kitty at her Halloween parade and party today. Here are some pics to share!

Mommy's Getting . . . Old

Today N had a lot of random information to share with me. She is really enjoying school and all of the great things they are learning. Apparently , they have spent a little time on outer space and the solar system. In the car on the way to school today, she spotted a very bright star and informed me that it was a planet. The rest went like this: "I think that planet there in the sky is Saturn." "Oh?" "Yes mommy, it is Saturn. Did you know Saturn has lots of rings around it? The rings are to protect it." "What are they protecting it from?" "The Mars Robot. Because he takes lots of pictures at Mars and then drives down to Earth to take them to the museum and then he goes back to Mars. And sometimes he bothers Saturn. So he has rings to protect him from the Mars Robot." "Wow, you are getting so smart!" "I know. The older I get, the smarter I get. Mom, you must be REEEEAAL smart." Uh, thanks honey.

Today is Your Second Chance- Choose Differently

I cried my eyes out as I watched Abby on The Biggest Loser last night. She practically begged her team to eliminate her and the giant tears just poured down my face. I think it touched me so deep because of the many times Abby has been on my heart and soul over the last three years. You know, everyone remembers where they were on 9/11. Well, I remember where I was on 10/13/06 . I can't say why I hurt so deeply when my mom called me to tell me the news. But, I could relate on so many levels to the pain that I hoped I would never understand. I cried for her for months at night when I laid down. I have had countless- what I like to call- Abby moments. Moments when life just throws you for a loop and you have to dig deep inside yourself and remain thankful. Like when Nixon is up way past her bedtime, and mine too, and she is wanting "one more" of just about anything. I have to remind myself how blessed I am to have the amazing opportunity to give Nixon just one more drink of ...

Halloween Funny

Bryan sent this to me today and I laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair. It read "FDA WARNING- DON'T LEAVE ALCOHOL NEAR YOUR PUMPKINS!" This is hilarious!

Rinse and Repeat

Well, my numbers did drop. Only one point, but I guess I will take it. Most molar pregnancy patients have their numbers down to zero by 4-6 weeks. Not me though! As the doctor says, I have some of the most stubborn hormone levels ever!! For now, I will be blood testing weekly- at least for a while. I feel like the ladies at the doctor's office are part of my family now!

Halloween Party

Yummy Cupcakes! Notice the dad in the background shielding all of the other kids! Our Princess Fiona Kitty with Snow White Shoes- whatever!

Miracles Happen

Needing a miracle for my blood test next week. My numbers didn't cooperate this week. Pray for a DROP! And just when I started feeling normal again!

Zoo Boo Fun

We had SUCH a great weekend! We had a blast at Zoo Boo on Saturday dressed as Princess Fiona. I mean, it isn't our fault everyone THOUGHT we were Cinderella. Nixon made one little boy's day- he thought, and exclaimed over and over, that she was the REAL Cinderella. He was so cute. He just wanted to touch her and get a hug. Luckily, Nixon was all too willing to play along and let him think she was Cinderella. When he walked off she said, "Maybe he just hasn't seen Shrek before." I didn't have the heart to tell her that she is a shoe-in for Cinderella! We finished the weekend up with a Pumpkin Party at Papaw's house. We had a blast making crafts from Family Fun Magazine - like a bat mobile and bat pumpkins. We also decorated cookies and carved a pumpkin! Lots of pumpkin fun!

My Little Smarty

Lately, Nixon has been telling me all about how her life will be when I die. She has seemed a bit obsessed. Keeping little things I give her in a special place so she will have them to remember me by. Sometimes Nixon is too smart for her own good. She has an excellent memory and unfortunately , she inherited her mom's ability to hold on to something FOREVER! Yesterday on the way home she was very quiet. Not the norm in our car. So, I questioned her a bit about her day and got nowhere. Finally, she said, "Mommy, did you know Mamaw died from cancer?" I explained that yes, I did know that. "Did you know you have cancer too?" Took my breath away. I quickly explained how our situations were very different, but could tell her little heart wasn't buying it all. I guess she has overheard just enough to have put together her own conclusions. Poor baby. I just pray for peace for my baby- because her mom plans on being her for a LONG time!! I wouldn...

At a Loss

Nixon, in her infinite wisdom asked me "Mom, where does poop come from?" Boy, where is dad when you need him?! So, I attempt to explain, "Well, it comes from your intestines." "Intestines, what are intestines?" "They are an organ in your body." "Wow, I am pooping pianos!" Again, where is dad when you need him?! On another note, my numbers are down again! Not much, but down. Yay !
