George Strait

Growing up I loved George Strait. I'm not sure how it happened, but I loved him. I own a very large selection of his released albums and used to frequent them often in the car. Over the years, George and I have grown apart. He was replaced with Disney music, KSBJ, and most recently a silent radio so I can enjoy sweet conversations with my girl. One day a few weeks ago Nixon asked if we could listen to some Christmas music since it is "almost" her birthday. I inquired about the specific type of music she wanted to hear and she quickly explained that George Strait would be her choice. I have no idea how he snuck into Nixon's life, but somehow he did. So, we have been listening to the George Strait Christmas album EVERY day over and over for a few weeks. We recently visited my mom and dad and found the Strait Out of the Box set that I have owned for years. Inside she found a book all about George Strait and fell in love. She has been carrying it with her to school every ...

Creative Cutie

Today I was working on a little something to give an amazing friend of mine with one of her favorite sayings. So, Nixon decided to work along next to me. I think we both came up with something cute!

Happy Birthday Nana!

Ethan and Nixon enjoying some Snicker Cake. Yum!! We made a quick one day trip to Athens to spend some time with Nana to celebrate an early birthday. Loved our time with family!!

Storybook Parade

I took time off today to enjoy Nixon's Storybook Parade and it was worth it! She dressed as Ariel and shared the book Ariel and the Dolphin Adventure. I couldn't get her to look at me for most pictures, but I sure had fun watching her enjoy her day!

Wildflower Festival

The most beautiful Rainbow Butterfly EVER! Puffy the Pinecone Jumping in one of 15 inflatables! This school year is flying by! And I have been so busy, that my blog has taken a back seat. My goal is to pick things back up very soon. Yesterday we headed out to The Wildflower Festival. It was so much fun! Jumpy houses, face painting, balloon animals . . . tons of fun on a beautiful day!

Zoo Day

We had a blast sharing a zoo trip with our friend Addison from our small group. Have I ever mentioned how much we love feeding the giraffe? Well, just in case I haven't, WE LOVE FEEDING THE GIRAFFE! Just can't get enough of it. And lucky for us, they are always hungry! We finished our zoo themed day by catching the movie Zoo Keeper. Lots of fun!

You Better Be Prayin'

Today was the WORST DAY EVER! Well, not really, but it sure felt like it. And I thought the same thing about yesterday, so my week isn't off to a great start! Tonight I was having a little quiet time in the bathroom. You know, the kind where you lock yourself in the bathroom for no other reason than to have five quiet minutes to yourself. Nixon knocks softly on the door. "Mommy are you OK?" "Yes baby, I am fine." "What are you doing?" "Uh, pottying ." "Well, I see your bottom on the floor. And I am thinking you aren't pottying on the floor. So, I know you must be praying." (I have no idea where her sarcasm comes from : ) "Something like that." "Well, wrap up your praying and come out here and love on me!" I have to be the luckiest mom in the world to have such an amazing little person living with me and taking such good care of me! Thanks Nix!
