My New Car and My Silly Girl

This is my girl.  Being silly while her dad and I picked out a new car.  Silly girl!  This will teach me to leave my phone with her! This is my new car!  Pretty excited about it and all of it's cuteness!

Roscoe

This little guy died yesterday.  He was our neighbor's dog in Oklahoma.  How did he become ours?  Glad you asked!  It all started with this little hole in the fence.  He would peek through every day.  And just look at that face.  Of course we brought him treats and lots of love through that hole.  We would even share scraps with him.  He peeked out of this hole all day every day.  Until one day, the hole grew bigger.  And bigger.  Until he had knocked three boards out of the fence and roamed freely between our yard and his own.  Fred and Chester LOVED him!  We didn't know his name, so we named him Roscoe.  He never even told us his real name was Max.  He was Roscoe to us and he was all too happy to spend time in our yard.  He would bark at strangers, protect our house, and spend lots of time with our family.  One day his real owners were pulling out in a U-haul truck, and brought him over to us o...

Lightning Nixon

Nixon had the assignment to write a creative tall tale a few weeks ago and I wanted to document her story.  She also added some spice to her story by dressing her character up as a cowgirl! The Story of Lightning Nixon Once upon a time there lived a girl named Lightning Nixon.  She had a dog named Twister Toby.  When Toby barked, a Twister began to happen.  When Nixon looked up at the sky, lightning struck.  You are probably wondering how Nixon and Toby got their names.  One day Nixon was walking through the forest and got struck by lightning and Toby was in a twister. Nixon and Toby had many adventures.  On one adventure they were walking through the hot hot hot desert and came across Thunder Jo.  They had heard of Thunder Jo but didn't know anything about him.  Thunder Jo's reputation was robbing banks and stealing jewelry.  Nixon and Toby were afraid and hid behind a rock and Jo didn't see them. Then one day Jo came to the...

Where I am At

It has been CRAZY busy lately in the Gorka household.  So ready for summer.  Saw this today and it couldn't fit my life right now any better!  It is from Brave Girls .  I love their art and encouraging words!

The Rest of the Story

I always loved Paul Harvey and his famous The Rest of the Story segments.  I have no idea why they intrigued me so much, but I just loved hearing the little known facts that he shared.  Lately, I have known God was pulling me in a new direction, but I wondered how the rest of the story would play out. I don't remember if I have always been good at math.  To be honest, I don't remember math until I was a ninth grade student taking Algebra.  I had this teacher that inspired me to love math every single day I stepped foot in her room.  Mrs. Hart taught in a way that made it not only interesting, but easy to understand. She did crazy things to keep us interested- like doing cartwheels all the way down the hallway if we all passed a test.  She dressed up and made us laughed.  She was our biggest cheerleader.  She challenged us to do more, to be more.  She inspired me to love math.  This caused me to spend more time at the kitchen table w...

Luckiest Crawfish I Know

We decided to take a walk in the park near our house today.  They had a crawfish boil there yesterday and today Bryan and Nixon found a survivor.  We decided to transport him to a safer home across the way near a creek.  Can you believe the luck of a crawfish who escaped a boil?!

Pre-Easter Fun

We spent Easter weekend with Bryan's dad and our extended family.  Papaw took us to a crazy fun place called the Trading Post.  As you can see, there isn't much to the place.  But, how much fun is it to eat while your kids can play horse shoes and washers!  Can't wait to go back for more country music and fun.

Miniature Pony

Isn't he the cutest thing you have ever seen?!  He lives next door to one of my great friends.  So, we get to love on him every time we visit.  When he wants more carrots, he stomps on the ground.  Pretty cute little guy!

The Road Less Traveled

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that, the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. Have you ever taken the road less traveled? This year I have been faced with a tugging at my heart from God. I honestly believe it began over a year ago. As my health stayed at a fairly negative state, my stress level determinin...
